Registration and Program Contact Information

Learn more about the 2018 program (including session dates) in this document (PDF).

NELD is an opportunity to make a strategic investment in emerging leaders for your staff. We ask you to consider staff participants who come from all levels of your organization with a track record of programmatic or administrative success. Focus on forward-thinking individuals who have shown potential for long-term leadership roles. Consider sending a small team of 2–3 staff currently working on a critical issue, or who will be assigned one in the future. Please note: We cap the cohort size at 36 participants to help us deliver a quality leadership learning experience for all.

The 2018 tuition rate is $3,250 per participant.

The tuition fee will be invoiced to your office prior to the first NELD session. As in prior years, each state Extension organization remains responsible for lodging, some meals and transportation to the city in which the session is held. For the international session, the lodging is also to be paid by your organization, however the University of Minnesota will invoice your organization for this expense after the session.

Timeline and Registration Process

September 15 was the deadline for registering 2018 program participants. Each state will be guaranteed up to three spots, and can also list up to two alternates (in 'priority order of participation').

Immediately after the September 15, 2017 deadline, we'll review the registration form, and fill any remaining spots with alternates, in priority order, on a first-come, first served basis based on the state's initial registration date (so get your names in early!). We will assume that all alternates listed are approved to participate. Remember to submit the name, title, address, phone, and email of each participants from your state on the registration form. The website also includes additional program information and participant comments.
